Nestled into an unusual ravine and bluff site that overlooks Lake Michigan, the owners wanted to design a house in the architectural style of those in Aspen or Tuscany. Since the lot faced south, the house was designed around a courtyard which served the purpose of accommodating guests and overflow parking, and creates a livable exterior room within the stone walls and bluestone chip parking court for leisurely summer dining and entertaining. The introduction of natural materials helped reinforce the classic, old world charm.
