Family Motel

As a sometime-vacation house to be shared by two separate families, this lake house presented a unique set of challenges: How to design a luxurious and affordable residence that can comfortably accommodate one or two families at any given time? Our solution was to design a simple and clean ‘motel’ house with rooms structured around an equally spaced column grid. A commercial storefront window system was specified to economically open the house to the lake and pool and to emphasize the house’s structural elegance.
