Lisa Jacobson

Project Architect

Lisa Jacobson has been a Project Architect for Grunsfeld Shafer Architects since the firm’s inception in 2001, and before that operated in the same capacity for 13 years as an employee for Grunsfeld & Associates. Before moving to Chicago Lisa attended Tulane University in New Orleans, where she received her Bachelor of Architecture with Honors (later retroactively awarded as a Master of Architecture). She previously received a BS in Interior Design and Visual Arts from Florida State University, as well as extensive fine arts education at the University of Central Florida.

As a Project Architect, Lisa has supervised and contributed to the production of numerous residential projects. For the past eight years she has been the lead architect in charge of all Ernest Grunsfeld designs. Her responsibilities include the management of project teams, the preparation of construction documents, design assistance, and construction observation and administration.

During her time with the firm, Lisa has completed many complex projects requiring extensive coordination and careful management. She has worked to coordinate all phases of a project’s design and construction, and consistently demonstrates an impeccable eye for all levels of detail.

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and caring for her two cats. She is an avid dancer and continues to attend dance classes as her schedule allows.
